My Story

Vanessa Koeen Antrum is the daughter of William and Christine Holley. She is currently the primary caregiver for her parents. She was born and raised in Washington, DC. Vanessa has always been a goal-oriented person and this was realized in her educational career. She graduated from the eleventh grade from the Academy of the Holy Names in Silver Spring, MD. She then went to Allegheny College in Meadville, PA and graduated with honors in three years with a BA in Sociology and Speech Communications. In 1984 she received her Masters in Social Work (Social Service Administration) from Howard University.

Vanessa retired from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene after 30  years of service in 2016.   Vanessa was also the co-owner (with her husband) of A & A Professional Services, LLC. It is there she used her organizational skills to plan events, bus trips, and desktop publishing for individuals and businesses in the metropolitan area.

Vanessa loves the Lord and gives him all the glory for bringing her through all that she has been through. She has been a member of the Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church for over 34 years where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. It is at Calvary where she met many of her lifetime friends. She has served in many capacities such as Captain of the Associate Missionary Board, Advisor of the Junior Usher Board, Secretary and Secretary/Board Member of the Alfred A. Owens, Jr. Family Life Community Center, Deaf Ministry Interpreter, President of Signs and Wonders Creative Interpreting Ensemble (SAWCIE), Women’s Alliance Board, Women of Virtue and the Marriage Ministry.

Reading “Faith for Fiery Trials, Volume II” has blessed me tremendously. It’s a lovely book — elegant proof that GOD is our refuge, strength, and ever present help. Thanks to you and all the authors.
